Mohonk Mountain House, NY

Has anyone ever been to the Mohonk Mountain House in NY (it looks like a castle)? It looks amazing!! It looks like the perfect romantic getaway. Any comments/remarks of this place?
Thanks!

I'd recommend looking through the comments on tripadvisor.

I personally only went up once, with some co-workers who were visiting from out of town and wanted to see it. We got dinner reservations, which gave us access to the building and grounds. The food was average, but the grounds are beautiful and I thought the building was really amazing. In many ways it felt like I was visiting an old mountain resort 100 years ago. I do also like that it is still family owned. Reviews are certainly mixed though. I think it one of that places where it depends what you're looking for and what's important to you as to whether you'll love it or think it was overpriced.

There are varying opinonis. I haven't been recently, but friends that I trust have and they said it was overpriced with food mediocre at best.

It IS an old Mountain resort of 100 years ago. I haven't been in ages. The food is nothing spectacular but the grounds are great and most rooms have working fire places.
