We are staying at Marriott's Maui Ocean Club and are very concerned about the construction. We have an ocean view with contruction view to the right. We've been told it shouldn't be noisy. Any thoughts??

I toured the Ocean Club villas last August, mid-day, and didn't find the construction to be the least bit of a problem (of course, I was only there for an hour, not a week LOL). Are you in the portion that used to be the hotel (facing the hotel, this would be the building in the center), or are you in the newer villas (again facing the hotel, these would be to your right, with the new construction to the left)? I think you will love this property.

We are in the portion that used to be the hotel in the Molokai Tower. My understanding is the construction is to the right as you face the ocean.

It is. Unfortunately, I wasn't in that particular area, however, I did walk right by the construction zone on the beachwalk, and still didn't notice anything terrible.

Don't know when you're going but I think the heavy stuff should be about done - I mean the actual raising of the floors, concrete trucks etc.

Maybe someone who has stayed more recently can chime in, my comment applies to what I saw last April.
