Marriott or Newport harbor Hotel in Newport?
Hello,
We have never been to Newport. Having trouble deciding between the Marriott and the Newport Harbor hotel. The Marriott is more expensive but I'm not sure if it is worth the extra money.Any input would be appreciated.Thanks!

I would avoid the Marriott. Noisy, more convention like, and not very pretty. Check out Gurneys (the old hyatt) on Goat Island and request Captain Quarter rooms which are larger. Also Hotel Viking (historic so rooms are small) or the Vanderbilt Inn (pricey but very nice).

The Marriott's rooms are a bit brighter, newer, and more modern. The Newport Harbor rooms are a little more ordinary, but their harbor is nice. Both hotels offer business facilities, so the differences are minimal.
