93 is the record high temperature in Camden. If that's too high for you, then maybe you should be concerned, but there is maybe a 15% chance of such a heat wave in late August. Bring a fan if you're worried, it will make it easier to sleep at night.
Average temp is 75-77

Reny's is a good place to buy a fan. Ask me how I know. First night, July 3, rustic VRBO cottage is slightly stuffy from being closed up. But then nights got cooler and fan was never used. Later in the week, air b&b place offered fans simply because some of her guests liked the noise. Very quiet place next to conservation land but we come from a quiet place so don't need any noise.
It usually cools off pretty well at night but not always. We are in NH and not on the coast. We usually vacation in Maine in July and have never used an air conditioner. But what you do is close the windows and shades during the day, open at night to let the cooler air in. Keeping windows closed during the day keeps the hot air hot (well, some of it). Some people have thought our house is air conditioned because it's a lot cooler inside. Also depends on if place has some shade or not.

I lived in Maine for 10 years. You won't need an air conditioner since it cools off so much at night. That high in Camden was not typical. In fact, I can remember putting winter pjs on the kids for fourth of July fireworks! Make sure you have a sweater. The commentary above is good for reference. We live in DC now and I can't believe how many people don't close all the blinds against the sun to help keep the house cool! Enjoy Maine. I hope you're going to the coast on Mt. Desert. What a beautiful place!

What part of Maine? We go from mid coast north most years and while its been hot in the day, as mentioned it cools off in the evening/night. If anything be sure to take a llight jacket or sweater as I have had to buy a sweatshirt or lke because i was cold.

I was in Wells last week. My host had a Honeywell HY-254 Quiet set tower fan. Nights were chill but it took the edge off as the sun heated up. I just purchased one for home to compliment my central air. The air circulation and cooling is great! Signed, a woman of a certain age. It shipped in a couple of days.
