Loews, Delano or Ritz Carleton South Beach

Help ...which hotel for the end of August in Miami? I have read on some internet sites that the Delano is overrated but... is raved about elsewhere

Sterotypes are dangerous but. . .

The Delano if you are a model, photographer, or into the ultimate trendy and "in" environment.

Loew's if you like upscale and a little more refinement.

The Ritz if you are more comfortable in a Rolls than a Porsche.

I could go even further and say:
Delano if you're under 35.
Loew's if you're 35-50
The Ritz if you're over 50.

Having just spent a week at the Loews back in June I'd recommend it. Staff was very attentive to any and every need. Rooms were well appointed & comfortable, pool is fantastic. I was also very pleased with the location. Price I can't comment on...we were there for a conference and had great group rate.

Drinks are expensive...but after all you are in South Beach.

I'm ready to go back.

The Loews is very nice but not near as nice as the Ritz-Carlton.

Just to throw a wrench in things, is there any way you can afford The Setai? Much nicer than all three combined.

I love the Delano but a lot of the hotel is hype and it is starting to look like the 'rode hard put up wet' big sister of The Shore Club.

The Loews is fantastic but in my opinion it is the most lux of the mid range hotels and not the entry level of the lux hotels.

The Ritz-Carlton is fantastic but $$$$ for a room with a view. You can expect a Ritz-Carlton level of service.

The Setai is in a class by itself. The architect for all of the Aman Resorts designed a very soothing uber lux resort. All rooms are fantastic.
