Also Tidepools at the Hyatt is wonderful but it's poolside not next to the ocean.

we go to "Beach House" often for bdays and special occasions...epic location, sunset, food, service all great! We never get outta there for 100 either however if just my wife and i, we order a couple pupus, split a salad and fish entree and figure on spending 140 with couple glasses of wine.
Mediterranean Gourmet is another of our spots every so often...Hanalei Colony Resort in Haena...right on the high tide zone...can watch the sunset and surf, take a break between bites and walk the shoreline, savor humus/flat breads/fresh seared ahi with ginger beurre blanc...etc etc...normally comes to 80 for us. slow motion savor
St Regis has the choicest ocean/ na molokama view plane of them all...i've taken guests there to sit outside under the awning and ordered drinks and assorted pups, avoiding the extremely expensive entrees yet still spending a wad. Restaurant caters to high end.

Are you just looking at the Poipu Area?
Med Gourmet (the old Charo's) is awful far to go if you are.
But like K'style says, great view.
Brenneke's in Poipu? Depends or you definition of "nice dining". Gets loud at times but nice view.

Some of our local friends were speaking highly of a fairly new resto called Red Salt in Poipu.
Might break your $100 budget but nice views too.

The drive to Haena is worth is alone for the beauty - and we loved the old Charo's (now Mediterranean Gourmet) - when we spent the 2nd week of our honeymoon at the Hanalei Colony Resort. Even met Charo once - and she was a bundle of "cuchi-cuchi" energy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charo
Suggest on a clear day - you head all the way to the end of the road at Haena - Ke'e beach - and enjoy that - and if you stay for the great sunset - you might even see a "green flash".
And we also loved the Beach House - which has an incredible setting (as does Med Gourmet) - to go with the fine dining. There is also good snorkeling in front of the Beach House - the reef/rocks - and there was also good snorkeling in front of the Hanalei Colony Resort.
I even met some locals way back when - and went spear fishing with them in front of the Hanalei Colony resort. Not big fish - but a lot of small - tasty ones.

Would that be ye epic green flash? Sigh...
The only flash I have seen at Ke'e was a rather unattractive derriere that was exposed when the bathing suit fell off. Could've done without that.
We had lunch at the Beach House. It is a good place to people watch as well as eat. We used up a $100 gift card easy. And we don't drink. Well...I drink, but I don't drink like Kal does.

LOL. If one has a few Mai Tai's - or Chi-Chi's - the odds of seeing the green flash - real or imagined - increase.
