Beach House. we ate there with reservations but got a super nice table in the lounge which they allowed us to keep and served us dinner there. Great ocean view, wonsderful experience.

Also Tidepools at the Hyatt is wonderful but it's poolside not next to the ocean.

It is very unlikely you could have a complete meal at either of those places for under $100 for two. A main course, tax and tip would add up to that much.

Suzie Jan 22nd, 2013 06:16 PM

Oh wow tax & tip was included? I never include those. I saw stuff on both menus that met the following:

Salad $10
Main $30
Dessert $10

But if tax & tip had to be included then dang...

we go to "Beach House" often for bdays and special occasions...epic location, sunset, food, service all great! We never get outta there for 100 either however if just my wife and i, we order a couple pupus, split a salad and fish entree and figure on spending 140 with couple glasses of wine.
Mediterranean Gourmet is another of our spots every so often...Hanalei Colony Resort in Haena...right on the high tide zone...can watch the sunset and surf, take a break between bites and walk the shoreline, savor humus/flat breads/fresh seared ahi with ginger beurre blanc...etc etc...normally comes to 80 for us. slow motion savor

St Regis has the choicest ocean/ na molokama view plane of them all...i've taken guests there to sit outside under the awning and ordered drinks and assorted pups, avoiding the extremely expensive entrees yet still spending a wad. Restaurant caters to high end.

Are you just looking at the Poipu Area?

Med Gourmet (the old Charo's) is awful far to go if you are.
But like K'style says, great view.

Brenneke's in Poipu? Depends or you definition of "nice dining". Gets loud at times but nice view.

<i>"uno mas"</i> :))

Some of our local friends were speaking highly of a fairly new resto called Red Salt in Poipu.
Might break your $100 budget but nice views too.

You will not be disappointed!!!!

It's one thing to use these forums to promote/advertise your concierge service.

It's a whole other thing to suggest people travel from Poipu to Haena and back for dinner. That's a long way home.

Tomsd Jan 24th, 2013 03:12 AM

The drive to Haena is worth is alone for the beauty - and we loved the old Charo's (now Mediterranean Gourmet) - when we spent the 2nd week of our honeymoon at the Hanalei Colony Resort. Even met Charo once - and she was a bundle of "cuchi-cuchi" energy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charo

Suggest on a clear day - you head all the way to the end of the road at Haena - Ke'e beach - and enjoy that - and if you stay for the great sunset - you might even see a "green flash". :)

And we also loved the Beach House - which has an incredible setting (as does Med Gourmet) - to go with the fine dining. There is also good snorkeling in front of the Beach House - the reef/rocks - and there was also good snorkeling in front of the Hanalei Colony Resort.

I even met some locals way back when - and went spear fishing with them in front of the Hanalei Colony resort. Not big fish - but a lot of small - tasty ones. :)

You may not have read, but the OP has chosen the Beach House - already made reservations.

Suzie Q: So is that the only meal they are going to eat at a restaurant?

Suzie Jan 24th, 2013 09:36 AM

Your patronizing attitude is annoying tom. There are plenty of SuzieQ's who post here. I am not one of them.

iceeu2 Jan 24th, 2013 10:34 AM

Actually, I took the Q to mean question.

Lookin_Glass Jan 24th, 2013 10:52 AM

LOL!!! Whether true or not - certainly possible.

Tomsd Jan 24th, 2013 01:28 PM

:)

wekewoody Jan 24th, 2013 04:09 PM

Would that be ye epic green flash? Sigh...

The only flash I have seen at Ke'e was a rather unattractive derriere that was exposed when the bathing suit fell off. Could've done without that.

We had lunch at the Beach House. It is a good place to people watch as well as eat. We used up a $100 gift card easy. And we don't drink. Well...I drink, but I don't drink like Kal does. :)

Tomsd Jan 24th, 2013 04:30 PM

LOL. If one has a few Mai Tai's - or Chi-Chi's - the odds of seeing the green flash - real or imagined - increase. :)
