Itinerary -Kauai/Maui
We are confirmed in Maui from March 17 to 31 but we have an opportunity to spend 3 days in Kauai prior to going to Maui. My problem at the moment is trying to figure out if it's worth the time and extra expense to go to Kauai for this short time. Plane schedules from our City only allow for us to get to Honolulu late at night so we thought we could fly to Honolulu on Tues. the 13th (have to find a hotel close to airport - ideas anyone?). Then up in the morning to fly to Kauai - I assume we'd be there early pm on Wed. so we'd have most of Wed., all Thur. & Friday - but then have to leave Sat. then fly to Honolulu and then fly to Maui which seems like this would take the better part of the day. I'd love some opinions on this - I'm wondering if all the running around to spend such a short time there would be worth it.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Kauai is a beautiful place. Is it worth it? in my opinion as long as you have the means to pay the extra money do it! Yes, you will be hectic but we only live once. I would suggest staying somewhere close to the airport (not sure how nice or even how many places are around). The times I’ve been there I stayed in Princeville and it is kind of far from “most” of the things to do there (at least the once I did). If you do go please do not miss out on: Kilauea light house (specially during the winter), Waimea Canyon (I think) this place considered the Grand Canyon of the Pacific) and my ultimate favorite Na pali coast even if you only go and do some hiking around. Did not get a chance to do the boat ride there but still enjoyed it immensely. Hope this helps.

There's no way you can fly into Kauai direct - maybe connect thru a city that flies into Kauai (LIH)? Where are you coming from? That way you could eliminate the whole Honolulu connection, just fly direct to Maui from Kauai.
