How to get from Newark Airport to Paramount hotel

The title says it all! we will be arriving close to 19.00 on the 13 dec, having read bad reviews of the Super Shuttle I am not so sure they are a good idea.

What's the best way for us to get from the airport to our hotel?

Thank you

I used Super Shuttle to go from my hotel in Los Angeles to the airport and was very happy with them. I booked well in advance and they were there to pick me at the hotel at the time I requested ( around 9.00pm).

If you have some doubts, a cab is always a good option, maybe a bit more expensive.

Here are all your options

Super Shuttle in NY is just terrible.

If you want a shared shuttle bus to your hotel, Airlink is a bit better. Your hotel is not far from either Port Authority or Bryant Park. YOu could take the Express bus to either of those spots (whichever stop is first) and taxi from there.

But taxi or car service is really easiest. For car service try

You will have tolls (and tip) to pay on top of the listed charges. Tolls about $10 from Newark I think.

Take a cab.

If you have luggage forget about the Airtrain. Big PIA.

Don't even think about the Super Shuttle - it's fatal. they put people for 5/6 hotels in one bus and it can easily take an extra hour or more driving around in city traffic to get to yours.

I would do a cab - assuming you have more than a small carry-on each. (Otherwise you could do public transit - but it means several changes.)

Or take the shuttle bus to Port Authority and then a cab from there.

It just depends on how much you value time/convenience versus cost.

Don't make reservations, just take the first shuttle to the hotel, doesn't matter Super or Duper I did that without problems!

Other options would be public transportation - do you really want to do it with luggage? Or taxi, if you don't mind to pay.

By the way, I use shuttles everywhere, and never make reservations to pick me up at the airport, the shuttles are usually available 24/7.

Honestly, I'd just hop on the AirTran (NJ Transit train) from the airport to NY Penn Station. In Penn Station, you can catch the subway uptown to the Paramount, or just walk outside and catch a cab. It'll be cheaper than a shuttle, and I think the trains always beat sitting in NY traffic. Especially tunnel traffic...ugh!

If you're interested, info's at www.njtransit.com -- just do EWR (not Newark Penn) to NY Penn.

Your best option:

www.dial7.com

I use it frequently. Same price or LESS than a taxi, and much quicker than trains ... which take forever, are a major pain with baggage, and don't save that much money.
