I know it's 173 mi, but it's also through 2 national parks, so I'm curious about slowdowns for that. Anyone done this drive and remember how long it takes? Thanks!

Hopefully someone else will be able to answer this better, but about 10 years ago we left Jackson in the morning (not real early -- probably around 9 or so), stopped at all the viewpoints through the Tetons, ate in Cody (lunch, but not sure what time) and went on through Wyoming to close to Devil's Tower for the night. This was in the fall, not summer. This summer, from what I can see, there is construction on the road between the two parks which can also slow you down. I'd be prepared to take my time and enjoy it. The east entrance is a beautiful drive IMO with places to stop on the way to Cody (like the hoodoos).

Keep in mind that the posted speed limit through the parks is generally 45 mph.

Mapquest says 4 1/2 hours, which seems about right unless you get stuck in a bear jam or hit a construction delay.
