How long from Cody to OFI?

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to drive from Cody to the Old Faithful Inn? We are going to be staying at OFI at the end of July and are interested in going to the rodeo but are concerned about the drive back later in the evening.

It's over 100 miles on mountain roads, minimum 2 1/2 hours. It took us 4 with the construction last August.

If you do this, make sure the east entrance to Yellowstone will be open. When we were there, the east entrance was closed around 8 p.m. each night.

The rodeo is fun, but I don't think it is worth the drive to and from the OFI.

It looks like it will be open this summer.

Thanks!! I did check the road closures already but you confirmed what I thought about the long drive. Maybe we'll try the Jackson rodeo instead. The West Yellowstone rodeo seems to only happen on weekends which doesn't work for us

It would be too far to the Cody rodeo to stay at Old Faithful Inn. It would also be far to the Jackson rodeo, if you are still staying at Old Faithful. With the speed limits, traffic congestion, etc. it would be smart to do the rodeo from a different town. Consider one night in Cody or Jackson - we had a nice stay at Jackson's 49er Inn which is a Quality Inn.
