We are a family of three (14 year old son) traveling to the Lake Placid region from Michigan for the first time. We currently have reservations for 5 nights at Mirror Lake Inn ($281/per night includes breakfast for adults and one dinner), but then discovered Whiteface Lodge. We are looking to enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery of the area as a family through canoeing, fishing, hiking and just relaxing at the hotel while being a little bit pampered. Whiteface Lodge is more expensive and not on water, but it looks amazing, ($540/per night, no food). Is it worth it to move two of our days to the Whiteface to experience its ammenities or is the Mirror Lake Inn the best spot for the money?
