Holiday Inn Select Richmond-Koger South Conference Center

The reviews are pretty bad; but, I will be staying here on business in July. Could anyone recommend a good restaurant nearby? I prefer independent local restaurants which feature fresh vegetables and seafood. Thank you.

There is Bookbinders Grill not too far from you, but the place that came to mind initially was Pescados which is only a couple of miles from where you are staying. It features seafood with a Carribean influence. Highly recommend the crab nachos.

Thank you, Janet! I was beginning to despair, particularly when the biggest plus about the hotel was its proximity to a Walmart.

It's right by the main drag, Midlothian Turnpike, close to a zillion places to eat. You might ask the front desk for recommendations when you checkin. It's close to EVERYTHING. It's in the Midlothian area, by the way.

Yes, right on the main drag close to a zillion places to eat, but most of them are chains, and there are not many good ones.

Pescados may be your best bet (leave the hotel travelling west on Midlothian Turnpike, and it's in the first shopping center after you pass Walmart).

There is a good kabob place (Kabob Grill) in front of the nearby Lowes - not much on atmosphere but good food.
