HHV ALII TOWER?
can anyone recommend a specific floor or side of the building or even room number with the best view at the Alii tower. we are going april 4 - 10 and reserved a partial ocean view. i heard some rooms you really have to hang over your balcony to see anything and we would like to avoid that...thanks for your help

Most of the rooms that are 01-05 have the center ocean view. So if on the 7th floor, then rooms 701-705 have the best view besides the Junior Suite.... Try upgrading at the check-in, maybe you will get lucky and land in the junior suite

i got my reservations through AAA we are departing out of LAX and flying ATA round trip for 4 people. we have a mid size car and a partial ocean view at the Alii tower, the total trip including insurance and $30.00 vouchers to any activity per person cost $3800.00 i hope this is a good rate especially during spring break. i did some research and the Alii tower rooms are about 150 square feet larger and newer than the rainbow tower rooms, so good luck.

RenDen - Since you're all set and are going to be staying at the HHV - be sure to go listen to Olomana in the Paradise Lounge on Saturday night. They are a local recording group and sing songs with all Hawaiian lyrics. They are great. The lounge is really laid back and great to relax in - it's open air and has no cover, but a two drink minimum. Good place to get some real local entertainment. Also, many times other popular entertainers or dancers drop by and join in.

I've been to HHV twice and stayed in Ali'i Tower both times. It's lovely! The first time I had a garden view room, which was nice, but the partial ocean view room I had the last time was better. I was on the pool side, so I could sit on my balcony and see the show every night by the "super pool."
I'm not home right now, but will look in my journal (I always write when I travel) and can tell you my room number at that time. I'll report back in on this thread later today.
You'll enjoy the Ali'i Tower a lot. It has its own pool, not large, but not nearly so noisy or busy as the super pool downstairs. It also has breakfast and I believe afternoon snacks/drinks (you pay for them) on the private terrace where the pool is located. Great way to start the day w/breakfast. I never did go for the snacks/coctails as I was never in my room at that time. Ali'i has its own doorman and check in desk. Lines are usually not a problem for checking in at Ali'i. But at the main resort, you might have to wait to get your room keys! HHV should be very busy at spring break time! But hopefully you won't feel crowded at all.
Enjoy the Ali'i!

OK, I'm home. Checked my travel journal. I had room 1322. It was high enough that I didn't get the noise, but could hear most of the music at night at the super pool entertainment times.
You might want a room number like 1312. I think that might put you closer to the beach end of the tower. I had a view of the beach right in front of the hotel. My room faced west. If you face east you will look toward Diamond Head, and not be looking at the super pool and HHV grounds.
ENJOY!

thanks everyone for all your info. the lounge sounds good for some entertainment and the info about the rooms were great. we do want the side of the Alii tower facing the pool so we can look down on our teens and to hear the music also. Carol, would you suggest a lower floor? would i be able to have a better view of the pool? and how low is to low of a floor? this is great info thanks.

I would think about 5th to 6th floor would be OK. Ali'i tower is about 16 floors. From the 13th floor, the folks in the super pool looked a bit like ants LOL. Evening entertainment could not be photo'd from that high, but I had great sound. I love the Hawaiian music.
I love the grounds at HHV. There are pathways, waterfalls, fairy penguins, lots of birds that talk/sing. My first trip was on the garden side. There was a cockatiel that kept saying Lo-HA all the time (trying to say aloha). It was funny about the first dozen times, but after that it got old. They have since moved that bird (or it died...don't know which) so folks on their balconies don't have to hear it all the time. LOL
Let me know if you want any other questions answered. LOVE the HHV!! You have made a great choice.
