Hawaii... Aloha or no way ha??
Myself and some buddies from University are planning the trip of a life time (for us any way!). We want to go to Hawaii for the month of July. We would appreciate any information anybody would like to share with us... we're from Ireland and have never been outside Europe before, so any information no matter how obvious it is to you will be extremely helpful to us. Thanks

Suzanne, if you have not already done so, a search under the topic Hawaii will reveal lots of useful and current information. Also, do you know what islands you want to visit? Will you be spending the entire month of July in Hawaii?
I'm sure you'll receive lots of help from this website.

Hi Suzanne,
"Aloha or no way ha??", you ask?
Aloha!
Many people consider Hawaii the trip of a lifetime. You can take that to mean that you will find plenty of tourism opportunities.
Obviously, you will want to visit several islands. Oahu, the big island as suggested, Kauai.
Obviously, you will want to get some sun screen as soon as you arrive.

SuZanne, the guide book suggestions are good see www.wizardpub.com
Also see the State of Hawaii's tourism site www.gohawaii.com , some down-loadable material there for each island. Can't say much else not knowing budget, interests etc.
On one Maui trip we met a German couple, mid-30s, who told us they'd taken a two or three week Kauai/Maui vacation every year for the last ten years or so (they were keen snorkelers); I made a comment about cost etc coming from europe. They said once the air tickets had been bought at best available deal then the living costs were "cheap compared with europe". If you want to go in July this year then you'd better get going with the trip planning. Good luck & have a great trip, you'll have a blast.
