GIRLS NIGHT OUT (& IN)

We are four married 40-somethings who are getting away from it all for one of our significant birthdays. The plan is to find a 2-bedroom hotel or inn suite or b & b where we can drink wine and simply hang out & talk - then go out for dinner very closeby. The Philly area is OK - as is Central PA - or even the Brandywine in Delaware or Northern MD. The problem has been trying to find one large room or suite. HELP?

Why not opt for a cottage ? Take a look at vrbo.com. You would certainly have more room to spread out, & perhaps a hot-tub to enjoy as well.

A great idea, but I can't find one that is "just right". I was sort of looking for some sort of bed and breakfast situation - perhaps with a separate carriage house or 2-bedroom suite. The hot tub idea is great, by the way...even though we won't be sharing that space with our husbands!!!
Keep 'em coming - I need to finalize this in the next few days. Thanks!!

For Phila., check out gophila.com for packages.

For wine in Phila, check out the wine and cheese tasting at the Westin on Friday nights. Also, Panorama Restaurant has terrific wine flights which are little tastes of five different wines.

While in Dublin, in a pub, we saw four or so women of an uncertain age bounce in, very boistrously, with T-shirts that proclaimed in large red print"Slappers on the Pull". I think that is another term for 'girls night out'. huh?

Check this place out. I was there on a house tour once and it is beautiful. They have a separate building that has bedrooms,a library, a gathering room, etc. all very comfy and cosy. I think they also have a two-room suite.

Slappers on the Pull? Gee...what could that mean? So fun that they had this secret code!
Thanks to all. We are 4 definite winos and I appreciate the wine-tasting advice, but we would get way out-of-hand...you have NO idea. We need to plant ourselves and stay relatively put. Taxis are a blessing, however, are they not? I am thinking about doing the Brandywine...the birthday girl is a great gardener and would love Longwood. I do know great restaurants down there and a few hotels/inns nearby. Checked out the Mendenhall but it's booked (BUMMER).
We are all so NOT independent and I know that we'll have a blast in a very different situation. THANKS TO ALL!

Just to explain the 'Slappers on the Pull' - Slappers = ladies who are not afraid of their sexuality!!
'On the Pull' = ladies not afraid of their sexuality who need someone of the opposite sex to practice on!

Ali, the Fairville Inn is just down the street from the Mendenhall, and is lovely. The other place I recommended, Whitewing Farm, is practically next door to Longwood Gardens.
