Getting around Las Vegas

Every casino has a parking area, mostly in multi story garages. I didn't notice any place you could park along the strip other than in the casino parking areas. There always seemed to be spaces available when I've been there.

There is no street parking in Las Vegas. All parking is in giant off-street parking lots or garages. Valet parking (usually free) is almost always an option, and a good one since you just have to tip a few dollars.
Parking never seems to be an issue in Las Vegas. There are always spots. But traffic can be horrific, especially on weekends. It's usually a needless expense to rent a car if you are planning to spend all your time on the Strip. Of course, it also depends on where you're staying. Some hotels are more convenient than others, and if you are staying off-Strip or planning to visit Hoover Dam or Red Rock Canyon, a car can come in handy.
It's usually easier to walk or take some of the free transport options or just a taxi. I was in Las Vegas for 4 days, 3 nights recently and took exactly three taxis, and two of them were to and from the airport.

Valet parking is free at all Las Vegas hotels. If you are going to have a car no matter what, you might as well drive your car from casino to casino because you will walk the same distance from the valet drop-off whether you arrive by taxi or by your own car.
Plan where you want to go so you won't be constantly on the run. GPS might help you find driveways that lead to the valet drop-offs.
The distance between casinos (even those that are next to each other on a map) can be surprisingly far from each other when on foot.
The Deuce is very expensive considering that is moves extremely slowly and is usually crowded--standing room only.
Taxis are a better option. If cost is of no concern to you, you can park your car at a mid-Strip casino and take a taxi from there to some other destinations.

No, parking is not an issue. Familiarize yourself with the streets behind the casino strip such as Koval Lane, Paradise Road, Industrial Rd etc if you plan on doing a lot of driving from parking-garage to parking-garage, use the actual strip itself as little as possible.
Hopefully you'll take day trips to Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam/ Tillman Bridge, Springs Preserve, Lake Mead, Mt. Charleston.

Car rentals seem to be cheaper in Las Vegas than anywhere, and it is nice to have one if you want to do the entire (long) strip and downtown areas or just cruise around.
In the center strip (Flamingo/Bellagio area) you can park at any of the free casino garages and walk to the different hotels and casinos.
