front of line tickets - orlando

I have heard that by staying in a hotel on site at Universal Studios you can purchase a front of the line ticket. Is there any other way to get a FOTL ticket for Universal?
Are there similar FOTL opportunities at the Disney Parks (WDW, Epcot, Animal Kingdom)?
Thanks!

If you stay at an onsite hotel at Universal Orlando you automatically go to the front of the line at the parks. All you do is show your room key and you go into the express line. It is a fantastic perk. If you are staying onsite, you do NOT have to purchase FOTL.

FOTL is not offered at Disney (too many people). However, many of the rides at Disney offer FastPass. It's like a reservation to ride later. You have a "window" of time to return to the ride without waiting in a long line.

Universal has a version of Fast Pass as well. What time of year are you going?

we are leaving in a couple weeks. busiest weekend of the year over new year's. I am certainly familiar with the fastpass, but I was curious if there were more advantages to staying onsite at disney. beyond the proximity convenience, the ticket benefits don't seem too enticing.
FOTL at Universal seems pretty darn good though...

One other tip for Universal/IOA is the singles rider line. They have a special line on most (if not all) the big coasters. You WILL NOT get to sit with the other folks in your party. But if your goal is to ride lots of coasters without waiting in line a long time, then single rider is for you. And after all, most of these rides pull so many g's you can't turn your head and see your neighbor anyway!.

Once you experience FOTL at Universal, you will be spoiled forever.

We stayed onsite at Universal a couple of years ago in July (think broiling temperatures!) and we loved being able to go to the front (sometimes it's a totally separate line). It was well worth it to stay onsite. We also got a good deal at the resort by using an Entertainment Book coupon. I normally don't enjoy going to the parks in the middle of the summer, but it was great not having to wait in line. I think the longest time we waited was for about 5 minutes. We rode the Hulk numerous times, and the regular line was extremely long; every time we ran by the same people in line (to get into our "non-line,") we tried not to make eye contact with them, because it seemed they were getting pretty aggravated!
