Fog questions, Juneau and Seattle
Doing some very preliminary Pacific Northwest research and have a question. Am trying to figure out when one would be least likely to encounter fog issues during a time window of May through October inclusive for Juneau and Seattle (especially at Mt. Rainier for the latter).
Thanks!
Thanks!

Juneau can be cloudy and foggy at any time, or it can be clear and beautiful, sometimes within hours of one another. May probably offers a better chance of good weather than October, but the differences won't be great. A July day: http://gardyloo.us/wp-content/upload...100708_20s.jpg ; the next day was gorgeous.
In Seattle the common saying is that summer starts on July 5, but some years it's earlier. You have decent chances of good weather pretty much any time between the middle of July and the middle of September.
The higher elevation areas on Mt. Rainier are usually covered in snow (not the roads or parking areas, just the trails etc.) until the middle of July. I would say your best chances of clear weather are in August and early September, but again, there are days when things are socked in. Here's the average monthly PRECIPITATION for Juneau. The amount of wet weather in a month is SOMEWHAT indicative of the likelihood of mist or fog, but there is not an exact correlation. As Gardyloo notes, Juneau can be stunningly clear in the morning and fogged in that afternoon.
