Faubourg Marigny hotel suggestion

We are returning to NO after many years; we stayed in this neighbourhood before and would like to again but not sure what hotels, b and b s are recommended. We are older so not completely interested in clubbing but do like to hear music, eat , and wander outside the normal areas.

Any help would be appreciated

Not in FM but pretty close: we have stayed at the LaFitte Guest House at the end of Bourbon(near St. Phillip). It's a short walk to Esplanade and over to FB.

http://www.faubourgmarigny.org/business.htm - Although we had to cancel our last, planned stay there, I still hear good things about B & W Courtyards.

La Maison Marigny! It's on the far end of Bourbon at the edge of Faubourg Marigny and gets fabulous reviews. You won't be disappointed. lamaisonmarigny.com

Wish I could remember the name of the great corner grocery store with some really nice B&B rooms for rent upstairs. The store has been in FM forever, and the rooms are comfortable and very reasonable cost. I'll try to look it up, but probably a Google scan of B&B's in FM would bring it up. Good luck.

I thought of the unique place above the grocery. It's called Balcony Guest House, with a big balcony out front. It is on the second floor of a building which has Schiro's Grocery & Cafe on the first floor--a long-time shopping place in the center of the FM district. A little kooky, but great atomosphere, great hosts, and very good rooms.

Another vote for La Maison Marigny. TripAdvisor top 10 with nearly unanimous reviews. My folks stay there when they visit me. I live in the Marigny "triangle" and love the neighborhood.
