Hello!
I am looking for a nice lakeside vacation spot for a family reunion of about 30 people (14 adults rest children). We would like somewhere on the Finger Lakes since it is the best for traveling but would appreciate any suggestions. Looking for either one big house or group of cottages or a few smaller houses near by to each other. There needs to be a place for large meals together and good play area for the kids. Lake or pool on site would be nice.

For reference, two years ago we went to Clayton's Cottages (http://www.claytonscottages.com) in the Adirondacks which was a great setting but not great lodging.

We would really appreciate any ideas ... or could you recommend sites to search on?

You could try talking to the people at Rental Plus < http://www.rentalplus.com/> as they have been very helpful to us in the past. We have rented on Keuka Lake many times, but Canadaigua Lake is also a great choice (a little more crowded and more expensive though).

I don't know if the Chautauqua area would work for you? Western New York almost to Lake Erie. If so, I believe you can find something online at Point Chautauqua. There are several large homes there. We have had a few reunions there and it has been perfect.

I would have to agree with Zipter. Rental Plus is the way to go, as they offer rental homes on Keuka, Canandaigua, Seneca, and Honeoye Lakes. The staff there is great at helping you find exactly what you need. Have a great reunion!

Take a look at The Wawbeek. It is on Upper Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks. Lots of family reunions there. http://www.wawbeek.com
