Disneyworld area hotel

We will be spending a week in the beginning of March in Orlando. We are booked at the Hard Rock for 3 nights and want a hotel for under $200 for the other 4 nights. We want to be near Disney. We will have a car. We have a 12 and 14 year old. We want to find a fun, heated pool, a CLEAN decent sized room and breakfast on site (preferably free,) or within walking distance. Thanks so much!

check out allearsnet.com for really good info on WDW and the area. Disboards.com and mousesavers.com are also excellent sites.

Just a bit of advice. Stay at Disney first and then move over to Universal. Because you are staying on-site at Universal, you will have express access to the rides with your room key. This is a fabulous perk. Of course, at Disney you will be standing in line. I recommend you start with Disney and have Universal to look forward to. Once you've gone to the front of the line, it's difficult to go back.

For something reasonable close to Disney, check the Holiday Inn Family Suites, which is now the official Nickolodean Hotel. Each "suite" has two bedrooms, kitchenette (small fridge, micro, and extra sink), and living room with pull out. Breakfast buffet is included in the price, as well as bus transport to Disney parks. There are two pools, not too fancy, but one has water sprinklers. Clean, and just completed renovation. Don't forget to use "Fast Passes" at Disney!

you might also try Staybridge Suites (Holiday Inn), Lake Buena Vista. one, two bedroom suites w/ full kitchen, pool, breakfast, shuttle to parks. great discounts on-line for early bookings. at Universal you will love the Express Pass (a feature of your room key), giving you near immediate access, as many times as you wish, to virtually all attractions.
