Current Weather in Destin?
Okay, looking for some help from the locals. We leave tomorrow night for a trip to the Destin area. We are staying at a townhouse on the beach near Miramar. My question is about what to pack. I'm wondering if its tank top/sun dress/swim suit only weather ...or will I want something more in the evenings? I am from Southern California and right now we're in the 90's and I can't imagine anything other than A/C or a tank top or sundress....and living in my swimsuit. Seriously, I wouldn't even want to wear a t-shirt with sleeves right now!
Any thoughts?

The only thing you might also want to take is a very light sweater or some kind of other cover-up. Some of the restaurants have very cold air conditioning. It really can get ridiculous how cold they keep the places. It makes me want to eat in open-air restaurants.
Keep everything casual - definitely not a dressy place.

Thanks good to know! That's kinda what I was wondering about, and I do always travel with a lightweight jacket if only for the plane. But I know from being in the Caribbean that sometimes capris and shirts with sleeves can be too uncomfortably hot even in the evenings. And yet I didn't want to show up with only tank tops and shorts and wishing I had brought some of my other things for wearing in the evenings when we go out...

To get official forecasts for anywhere in the U.S., go to Weather.com, enter the name of the city (or park) you are interested in, then click on "10 Day Forecast"
The three day forecasts will allow to know what to expect at every HOUR of that time period.

Current weather in Destin?
All you need to do to find the current weather in Destin (or any other place) is to Google the name of the place (e.g. "Destin FL weather").
The weather in Destin is very similar to what you are experiencing in California; therefore, you might wear in Destin whatever it is you are wearing in California.

Thanks guys, I do know how to find the weather online. I was just hoping to get a take from those living there if they are just wanting to run naked through the streets due to the heat and humidity, or if they can tolerate clothes of any kind...and if so, what kind...

I grew up in the Destin area. Here is what always stands out about tourists: they all seem to be wearing brand new "resort" wear and they tuck in their shirts. Rule #1 in hot and humid Florida: Do not tuck your shirt in! Wear loose, light colored clothes that you feel comfortable in. Tucking anything in will just make you hot.
And 90 in Florida is way worse than 90 in Southern California. Way, way more humid.

Ha ha! Resort wear! Funny, funny, we call that "cruise" wear. Yeah, not too into that. Don't care much for cruises either...maybe its the fashions, lol.
I did live in Florida for a while as a kid, but it was down towards the keys, and then in Tampa for a year also. I remember frogs, lots and lots of frogs. I hate frogs.

sitting at work in Destin right now... live on the Okaloosa/Walton cty border
it's summer in FL - highs in the 90's, lows in the high 70's ... humid!
30% chance of isolated showers... popcorn showers, here one minute, gone the next
make sure you hit Pompano Joe's for some great food on the water, and dress up a little for Fat Clemenza's - awesome Italian.
have fun!

BTW, we had an awesome time in Florida! We went with relatively no real expectations and ended up really enjoying ourselves. LOVED all the seafood, loved the sand, loved the little town of Seaside
