For those in LONDON...How is the weather?!

I am off to London in less than a week so I would like help in what kind off clothes to take with me. I have been told that the weather in london can have more than one season in a day so I should be ready for everything. As long as it is not too hot I do not mind.

Well, I don't live there, but can look up the weather online. Try:

Have fun!

Not there any more, but for me the best weather forecasts for the UK are on the BBC website - www.bbc.co.uk/weather. they have some webcams there too so you can see what the weather is right now!

I live 25 miles from London in Kent. Today, it is lovely and sunny, I have been wearing a T shirt and light trousers. Yesterday, I wore jeans and a T. It was raining at first, then cloudy, then sunny then sunny and windy! However, it was warm enough to have a bbq with friends and we sat out all afternoon - as my garden is nice and sheltered. So that gives you an idea of the weather - yes it can be predictable, but nothing that you can't deal with - as long as you have layers/umbrella

With regard to clothes to pack, I have pasted over my reply to another poster a couple of days ago:......

it all depends on what you want to do, where you want to go. If you are planning on walking a lot to see the sights, then bring your sneakers/trainers and jeans by all means, if they are comfortable for you. In addition to T shirts, I would take along an umbrella in case of showers and a light jacket/fold up raincoat. For the evening (male) I would take nice dark trousers and a few short sleeved shirts and a few long sleeved shirts.(if you like to be fashionable and casual, these are worn untucked). Obviously, if you are planning fine dining, I would bring tie/jacket to be on the safe side.

For the ladies (of which I am one!) I would echo the above: jeans, T's, sneakers if you are comfy in these (and you will NOT stand out like a sore thumb, believe me), light jacket. Nice skirt/trousers and smart tops for evening wear. You might like to bring along a pair of heels (such as kitten heels). Have a great time! In fact, the 'wardrobe' I have outlined we took to our holiday in New Orleans and Memphis (without the umbrella and raincoat). You see, we wear and look very very similar (USA/UK). No one knew we were English til we spoke

Sunshine, short clouded periods, some rain due in a day or two, cool breeze. Delightful. The first strawberries are ripe in my front garden.

Welcome to London
