Crystal Blue Waters in FL?
How far south in Fl to see Crystal Blue waters? We'll be flying from NC in Late March-late April with our 1 year old, so I don't think I want to venture as far as the Bahamas - but still hoping for those nice blue waters. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am not trying to talk you out of Florida, but I will point out that a non-stop flight from Charlotte, NC to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island take roughly the same amount of time as a non stop flight from Charlotte to Fort Lauderdale Florida. All in all, much of the Bahamas are no further than South Florida is from North Carolina..........

I beg to differ on the poster who says the Atlantic Coast is better than the Gulf. I've only been to the panhandle on the Gulf side. The beaches are beautiful. Sugar white sand and calm, turquoise water. They are world class.
