Complimentary ground transportation from airport at DisneyWorld

Looking at the Disney resorts, I see that they offer complimentary transportation from the airport which includes their transferring your luggage directly to your room as well as delivering you to the property. This is especially nice if flying in early and you can't get to your room. Has anyone done this? Is it "worth it" or are there long delays in waiting for a shuttle, or long routes to get to your resort?

It's quick and efficient except you don't really know what time the bags will be deliverd to your room. Ours were there quickly.

Not all airlines participate or at least that's the way it used to be. Flying on certain airlines meant you had to go to baggage claim and take your luggage to the shuttle bus yourself.

It's a great bonus to staying on-property, well managed and highly recommended. Check on mousesavers.com for a better explanation/review.

Since we'd be flying early, the room wouldn't be ready anyway, so I like the idea of their taking care of the luggage until it is ready while we go to the park. But we'd probably both do carry on only, so not sure how that works. Hmmm. Probably Jet Blue. I'm guessing they don't participate, but will check.
Since we'll probably be moving to Universal the last couple of days, the return to the airport doesn't apply to us, so it's only an advantage getting there.
I guess I was more concerned with the "wait" for the shuttle or the length of time it takes to get from the airport to the resort as opposed to taking a taxi.

We've done it (Disney's Magical Express) SEVERAL times and IMO the best way is this: collect your OWN luggage from the bag carousel because there will probably be a wait until the bus for your particular on-property hotel arrives. The driver will handle the luggage onto and off of the bus for you and then simply hand it over to one of the hotel's bell people IF your room is not ready upon arrival. We've had mixed results and on a couple of occasions our room was actually ready but we NEVER count on that.

The "down" side to this is the return to the airport leg. You HAVE to get the bus from your hotel a FULL THREE HOURS prior to take-off time.

Sorry, just re=read your post.., you may or may not have to wait long for your bus from the airport..it simply depends on when you arrive and get in line. We've ended up waiting a while and this past August when we arrived at MCO we got into line and were on the bus less than 5 minutes later.

Yes we have done it. It is a great service. Just make sure you have whatever you need in your carry-on(backpack).Our luggage was in our room as soon as our room was ready to check in.Once you reach Orlando airport you take your voucher to the Disney counter to get it scanned. Then you proceed to the lines for the various resort buses. It was quick & easy. We arrived at our resort in about 40 minutes.(Some buses handle 2 resorts).
