Choosing best Seats Radio City
I am splurging on good seats for the Radio City music Hall Christmas show. I have a choice for the 5tth row back from stage or 1st mezzanine in row C which is the 3rd row. Both are the same price point I am just wondering if being so close it really for the best. I will have a smaller child with me. I am just wondering if anyone who has been there can offer any opinions. Thanks.

There are interactive websites that show you exactly what the view will be from different seats. I think 5th row might be too close to really appreciate the big stage and choreography but 3rd row mezz might be too far for such a small child. The interactive seating map might be right on the Radio City website.

I would agree with McLaurie - Row 5 is too close - but I would want to be further back in the orchestra rather than the mezzanine. The latter was OK when they showed massive movies there - but I think for a live show you are too far to see a lot of details (it's a HUGE theater).
(Do no let them pick what they think are the best choices - go directly to the seating chart and pick what you want - what the computer picks as best often isn't.)

Thanks. Well this is driving me crazy. Orchestra 4 row G looks as far back as I can get. I am on the interactive Map on the site. I don't see how you can get a live person. It is just a recording. if I go further back in the 1st mez the tickets jump UP to $181.00 and the ones in Orchestra are 131.00. If I don't make a decision soon I will end up with nothing. I need 5 tickets. My granddaughter will be just 9 when we go. I should just get something and be done with it.

Well I got the tickets last night. It was very painful but on the 4th try I made it. The problem being the time element and if you time out you start over. Each time I got a little further. YEAH!! I have an account but I changed credit cards henceforth new info needed to be added. I got faster as I went along. At any rate I got the 1p.m. performance I am in Orchestra G row which is not far away but not real close. All of other seats were not available. I am in Section 400 which is middle. I am excited to take my family. Thanks everyone for the suggestion of choosing your own seats. Great info you are the best as always.

Thanks. I saw it years ago and I thought it was great then. I can't wait!! I saw it with my son, when he was only 7. He is now a grown man with his own child. It is so nice to share it again with my grandchild. Now I need to go over other activities to do while in New York for the day. Store decorations, Rockefeller center perhaps the Rock (?) I am also thinking s horse drawn ride in central park would be great. We have all day after the show.

We saw the show yesterday and it was awesome!! We had a great day, did Rockefeller Center, St. Patricks Cathedral and we went to Schwartz toy store. What a place. My granddaughter picked out a toy. We took the Subway to the theater from Penn Station fairly easy. We had some drizzle but the day was a perfect day. Thanks everyone. Just wanted to report back.
