Chicago to Jacksonville...good hotel?

We are driving to our condo in Jacksonville from Chicago this weekend and are looking for suggestions to stop half way on Saturday night. We thought about stopping in Nashville, and another suggestion was the Reynolds Plantation Ritz Carlton. Anything else that might be more half way? Any suggestions would be appreciated. 4 of us... two kids aged 20 and 21.

Thank you!

I don't live there, but I've stayed at the Grove Park and I loved it!

Nashville? Have you looked at a map? From Chicago I would think you would want to drop down to Indianapolis, then the interstate that takes you to Cincy. I75 south to Knoxville and then I40 to Ashville. I 26 to Charleston and I95 to jax.
From Cincy it is about 4 hours to Knoxville, and another 2.5-3 to Ashville.

Our kids have always wanted to go to Nashville, so it was a possible stop on the list.

Nashville is one of the most direct ways to go, and we do this drive fairly often. Asheville is a fun town - if it appeals to your kids it would be a perfectly nice stop - but if there is something in Nashville that they wanted to see, there's no reason not to go that way.

It's a beautiful hotel, although that's a really long drive.
The restaurant is wonderful. Actually, everything is wonderful there.

It's a lovely area...are you going to stay for a day or two? After a 12-hour drive, maybe more depending on traffic and construction, you won't really have much time there on Saturday night.

We've driven the whole thing twice before, so we're all pros at plugging along. At least we have 4 drivers! We will stay around most of the day on Sunday. We just have to be in Jax by Monday morning.

Thanks again!

If you aren't getting on the road immediately, you may be interested in back-tracking a little bit and visiting the antebellum town of Madison GA. It's one of the prettiest towns in the country and the gorgeous homes will be decorated for Christmas. You could stop in and see one of them decorated for the season -
