Charleston Harborfest Questions
We will be attending a function in SC the weekend of May 6-7 (Mothers Day weekend) and would like to take around a week for vacation on either side of that date. We will be visiting in Myrtle Beach for six nights, but would like to also spend 3-4 days in Charleston. Is the Harborfest celebration a "not-to'miss" function? Will it be crowded or difficult to obtain rooms for those dates? Any comments or suggestions will be most appreciated!

Be aware of Bike Week at Myrtle Beach. That could impact your ability to get a place up there.
It's a busy time in Charleston. Harborfest is fun, as is just walking around town. Look at Mills House, Doubletree, King Charles Best Western, Harbourview Inn to see what's available. It will not be cheap.

We already have accomodations for MB - when is Bike Week? Also, what is there to do during Harborfest? I've tried looking it up, but there really isn't much description other than "tall ships in the harbor".

Here's the link to bike week:

And Harborfest is pretty much just that: lots of tall ships in the harbor.
