Carry On Rules

I've been unable to get into the tsa.gov site all day. I'm flying next Tuesday and want to bring a carry on. In addition to the 3 oz. bottle/transparent bag rule, am I allowed to bring nail clippers? Tweezers? A razor? (You know, the kind to shave your legs with . . .) I've always checked my bag, but the last time I flew it got lost and I'd like to avoid that hassle. Anywhere else I can find the rules?

I am pretty sure taht you cannot bring a razor ( not electric) or nail clippers with you. I think tweezers are not dangerous lol..
I carry a nail clipper in the outside pocket of my luggage that I check so I can cut the luggage locks but believe they will be confiscated if carried on.
Check your carrier site, they have the rules posted too..I think

I just went on the TSA website: nail clippers, safety razors, and tweezers are all acceptable in a carry-on.

Thank you all -- this was really helpful. I was traveling for a family emergency and, after a recent experience with lost luggage, wanted to try a carry on. Thanks to your tips, everything went smoothly.

I hate to bring this up, but that last linked list is dated Sept. 26, 2006. Hasn't there been a new list or some changes since then?

That's the official TSA site; it includes all the details about limits on liquids, and little baggies, etc., hard to believe those have been inplace for 2 months already. There's even a special blue notice about snowglobes, at the top.

What the page says is "On Tuesday, September 26, TSA adjusted the ban on liquids, gels, and aerosols."

It isn't saying the page is dated 9-26. It is just a highlighted note about the liquids/gels and quart sized bags that went into effect on 9-26. Before that date liquid/gels were banned except for some prescriptions and baby formula.

dbenya: Sounds like you have the straight scoop now. Carry on isn't hard as long as you meet the liquid/gels requirements. Nail clippers, razors, even small scissors are alloed.

I got that link to the TSA "on" 12/24, so it was indeed up to date. There have been no changes in carry on since 9/26.

OK, it just seemed surprising that it's been three months since any changes. I thought I'd heard rumblings just a few weeks ago about more changes, but I must be wrong. Time flies when you're having fun.

You don't mention whether you are traveling internationally, but if so, they are often much stricter than our domestic TSA regulations.
Also, if you are flying nonstop, just check the bags.

Yes. So we're not allowed to talk about "Carry on Rules" any more? No one else is traveling in the near future?
