Cape Cod fun for kids?
I'm thinking about a short 2 or 3 day trip to Cape Cod this month. My husband and I would love to just relax and do a whole lot of nothing, but the kids would be too bored (ages 9 and 12). Is there much to do to keep kids entertained? Will probably go to the Hyannis area.

Rent (or bring) bikes and ride along the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Go to the National Seashore Visitors Center in Eastham and get a schedule of activities, tour the small museum there, ride the bike trail from there to Coast Guard Beach, visit the lighthouses near Nauset Light Beach, walk on the trails at Fort Hill in Eastham or Marconi station in Wellfleet.
Swim at the ocean where there is great surf. Fly kites on the flats in Dennis, Brewster, Orleans or Eastham on the bay side.
Play mini-golf or bumper cars or bumper boats or jump on trampolines along Route 28 between Yarmouth and Harwich.
Swim in a fresh water pond and watch the ducks, maybe find tadpoles.
In Hyannis I think there is some kind of pirate ship ride, also a duck tour in an amphibious vehice. Haven't done either of those, though.
In Brewster, go to the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, take the walk down to the bay.

How about a Cape Cod league baseball game. This league attracts all the best college players - many current major leaguers played including Nomar Garciaparra, Mo Vaughn etc. You may get to see the next Randy Johnson. Big tradition on the Cape - plus its free. They pass a hat around to collect donations. In Hyannis the games are played at the elementary school behind St. Francis Xavier Church (also known as Our Lady of the Kennedys). Other towns have teams also.
