Best pool in Santa Fe?

Hello,

I am looking for a great pool area in a Santa Fe hotel near the plaza...How's the Inn at Loretto's? I'd love a nice casita-type accomodation with nice decor...

Thanks in advance

Melaniet13: We're going to Santa Fe on July 9 for a few days. We were unable to book the hotels such as the Inn @ Loretto so we are stuck with the Holiday Inn, Santa Fe. Better to book ASAP as summer is Santa Fe's season. Sorry I couldn't help - heck, I can't even help myself! Good luck!

Melody,

While nothing to write home about, the pool at Inn at Loretto is just fine. It's your basic rectangular shaped affair sitting out back and surrounded by patio tables. Since it's off their main lobby (and bar) it's also quite easy to get drinks to take out to the pool area.

Frankly, I have not noticed what I would call outstanding pool areas off of The Plaza in Santa Fe. That said, however, I think you will love the Inn at Loretto. The rooms are great (many with balcony views or kivas) the staff friendly and the restaurant (Nellie's) features good southwestern fare. We love this southwestern-style hotel and have stayed here many times.

Hope this helps,

Strive

A quick web search indicates the Hilton has the largest outdoor pool in Santa Fe. It has casita accomodations. It's 2 block from the plaza. The Eldorado has a rooftop pool. The Inn of the Governors also has a pool.

The Holiday Inn is not a bad hotel, but the pool is not very big. It is 1/2 indoor and 1/2 outdoor. I was very disappointed with it.
