Best Luxury Hotel in Buckhead

I'm heading to Atlanta next week for 5 nights and was wondering what's the best luxury hotel in Buckhead with a Club level. I stayed at the Ritz Carlton about 20 years ago but from what I saw from recent online reviews, the Ritz isn't what it used to be. How does the Intercontinental or Mansions compare? Thanks you for your input.

The Mansion of course is brand new but they have been through some financial problems. I don't know if this caused the level of service to decline or not but my favorite is the RC. I have seen only one negative review lately and it had something to do with rooms being in need of upgrades. Usually the club level is kept up first class. I would go with RC. You can't go wrong.

We stayed in the Mansion this spring and it was very luxurious, although we felt nickel-and-dimed by the high price of, well, everything. If money is no object, the Mansion will probably suit you very well.

I've stayed at the Ritz a number of times for business and while the service is always great, I've grown tired of the party crowd there. My most recent visit I was awoken to a room full of cigarette smoke at 3:00 AM. Couldn't figure out if it was adjacent or below me, but it was worse than a smoky nightclub. They switched my room and comped it, but the manager seemed resigned to the fact that they have a hard time controling smoking by some guests (European maybe?).

In Buckhead now I usually stay at the Embassy Suites, but I know that's not the kind of place you're looking for.

I'll ask a friend who doesn't come to Fodors much anymore. I'm pretty sure his answer will be the Mansion.

Thanks for your responses. A friend of mine living in Atlanta suggested I check out the St. Regis Hotel in Buckhead. Does anyone know how that compares with the Ritz Carlton?
