Best car to rent for driving around Oahu and Maui
I would like to know if it is OK to rent a compact car for a 4 day stay on Oahu and a 6 day stay on Maui in late April. I don't plan on driving off paved roads, but I am concerned about hills, parking, and gas millage. Also which company would you recommend? Thanks.

Small is fine. Cheap is good. Get those cars reserved pronto. Neither island is big enough for you to rack up many miles/have big gasoline costs. Costco has cheapest gas. You may or many not actually GET the compact you reserve; they will honor the price, but will give you what's on the lot when you arrive. Do't let them up-sell you. Don't take the option to return with less gas than they gave you or you will overpay for the gas they provide. Don't duplicate your own auto insurance. Get the 'all in' price, not only the rental rate. Taxes are high.
