Austin or San Antonio?
Hi. My wife and I (early 30's) are looking to take a 3 day weekend trip to either Austin or San Antonio this year but can't decide which one to visit. Unfortunately we won't have time for both. We enjoy sight seeing, live music and nice scenery. We also plan on using public transportation while there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Just come back from both and we are in the same age group as you... you can hit all the major sites in one full day in San Antonio.
I suggest what we did which was arrive late afternoon in SA so you can do a riverboat tour and dinner and then have a day to hit the sights like the Alamo and missions and trolley/ bus city tour. Then we left late afternoon and drove via Saltlick BBQ restaurant in Driftwood before continuing on to Austin for your remaining nights which is only another 20 mins drive. Can you squeeze the vacay to four nights you might be able to enjoy it even more? There are less "must sees" in Austin so it is more about experiencing the music scene and Bob Bullock museum etc..

You could do Austin via walking, cabs, bus. You wouldn't see it all but I can imagine being centrally located downtown and walking to restaurants, music, some shopping, even museums. If the weather is nice and you are up to it, you could walk to SoCo, get food and music and take a cab to your hotel.
I'm a walker so I could envision it. Town Lake has a great hike and bike trail, and depending on the time of year, there is Barton Springs pool.
When are u planning to visit?
