Asian restaurant in/around NYC?
I am planning a bridal shower for a friend in the New York area (I am in Chicago) and am looking for an Asian restaurant with good food (doesnt have to be too "authentic" but food that would appeal to a crowd), not expensive (ideally $30 p/p or less for everything) with a private room for about 40 people. We may have wine service but a bar package is not necessary. Event would be on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in February. Location can be NYC or any surround area, including Westechester or Long Island. Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by Asian.
Are you looking for something fusion - don;t know if you can get if for that price. Or are you lookjng for Chinese? Japanese? thai? Indian? Malaysian? Vietnamese? Don't care?
Also- where are the people coming from? If there are many from out of town the suburbs can be an issue - unless local people are willing to do lots of picking up and dropping off? (And Westchester to LI can will be at leaast an hour - possibly two of more - depending on specifics.)

She is Italian, so no, I don't really care. I was thinking Chinese or Japanese, just because I think most people are somewhat familiar with these foods. There will be some older family members there so I didnt want, say just sushi.
Most people will be coming from Long Island, a few from Westchester and a few in Manhattan. I am the only out of towner.

Ruby Foos' is your best bet. One location in Times Square, the other on the Upper West Side. My friend had her shower at one (can't remember which, sorry--but think it was the UWS location) in a private room. Cost per person was under $30, but prices may have increased since last year.
Good luck.
