area surrounding the Crystal Cathedral - HELP

Is the area around the Crystal Cathedral safe? A couple of young moms and daughters are visiting there next year. Staying there for a couple of days and then off to the beach communities...We were considering staying at the nearby DoubleTree, Hilton, or Residence Inn - they are all on busy streets as far as I can see

Went past it last year on a visit. Looks like a safe area - typical suburban sprawl.

Safe as oppossed to what. Yes the Hotels are on a busy street. But shouldn't young Moms know not to play in traffic. The area is safe suburban sprawl. If you become stuck in traffic ask yourself WWJD?

If you are attending one of their conferences, I would call the Crystal Cathedra and ask about their agenda. Are side trips possible, how about shopping, concerns, etc. I have found the staff to be very friendly, and I am sure you will feel much better about your upcoming event. Sorry, I don't think they have a toll free number.

Colleen,
I live in Garden Grove not far from the Crystal Cathedral. I would strongly suggest the DoubleTree, it is next to 'The Block.' The Block has restaurants, arcades and movie theatre. Very nice place to walk and shop. Garden Grove is a bedroom community of over 150,000 next door to Anaheim. It is one of the safest cities here in North Orange County. They will also just be a few blocks away from Disneyland which I am sure they plan on visiting while here in Garden Grove. For beaches, I suggest the northside of Seal Beach, great and safe for kids. Be sure they visit Laguna Beach though. Enjoy!

Marci - safe in terms of businesses in the area. Is it a place where gangs of teenagers hang out with nothing to do. Please, even in the midwest we know how to cross the street.

SoCalBob - Thank you for your intelligent and well thought out reply.
