Long term stay in The Hague

My daughter will be attending the Royal Conservatory in The Hague this fall and is looking for an apartment. She has found several available units on the Internet, but we are in a quandry as we know nothing about the various neighborhoods. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not that familiar with the HAgue so I can't help directly but can I suggest she looks at Expatica.nl and puts her questions there - she will get lots of help from Ex Pats living in the Hague - and may make a few friends to help her settle in too.

Schilderswijk, Laakkwartier and Transvaalkwartier are regarded a little less safe (but by no means ghetto-like). These areas hold a lot of cheap houses and therefore a lot of people with lower incomes, immigrants and un-employed. But as already said; compared to certain areas in large US-cites and Paris, these areas are mostly pretty safe.

Benoordenhout, Bezuidenhout and Voorburg (another city, but completely attached to The Hague) are near the conservatorium and are safe neighbourhoods.

Centrum is the city-center, also mostly safe.

Regentessekwartier is also a safe and very ncie neighbourhood.

Duwo (www.duwo.nl) is a rental agency especially for students.
Another big rental agency is www.directwonen.nl.

If you have got specific neighbourhoods in mind; please ask!

I don't if you're still looking for a place to stay in The Hague, but a few months ago, I was looking too for a house in The Hague.

I found my apartment at:

http://www.pararius.com/apartments/D....php?city=2429

They have over 700 rental apartments in The Hague.
