Anybody stay at the Salishan Resort in Ore. lately?
We're heading off to the Salishan Resort in Oregon in just a few days - found a few postings from last year, some good, some so-so. Just wondering if anyone has been there lately? Any suggestions of side trips once we arrive? Favorite restaurants?

Haven't stayed at the Salishan so I can't help you there. I can tell you that Depoe Bay is a fun town to visit. If you go there and like sea food you have to go to Tidal Raves restaurant. Great food. If you go into Lincoln City my wife loves the Outlet mall there as there is no tax. Oh boy does she take advantage of that! :} The beach there is beautiful. Have fun!

We haven't stayed at the property but did have a very nice lunch there last summer with my daughter and her friend from Salem. The grounds are gorgeous, the golf course is very pretty and we did a short tour of the spa that was absolutely gorgeous. We all want to schedule treatments here next visit to the area this summer.
We went to the aquarium in Newport and spent some time shopping at the Tanger Outlets which was really fun. Blackfish Cafe in Lincoln City was a nice place for dinner. Enjoy your trip and let us know how you like Salishan! ***kim***

If the weather cooperates, you'd enjoy a short hike out Cascade Head, six(?) miles north of Lincoln City. The view south from the Head is one of my favorite on the entire Oregon coast. Trail Head is right on hwy 101, but you can pick it up several miles west of there at Cascade Head Ranch, which shortens the hike to just a couple miles roundtrip.
