Alaska Cruise from Whittier
Hi, We are taking our first cruise on Carnival. They say the ship leaves at 9pm from Whittier.
We rented a car , what time do we have to be there to catch the ship??

I would check with the cruise line, there will be a time all passengers must be on board. Personally I would want to be there mid afternoon to get the lay of the ship down and to have a nice dinner. You may also have a deadline to turn in your car

I am never in a rush to get on a ship in Alaska, there is plenty of wonderful activities to take advantage of instead. I get on southbound cruises usually around 6:30-7:00pm, so I have a full day of touring. It takes no time to figure out a ship.
As a reminder, Avis is the only car rental company in Whittier, take advantage of having it. Be very aware of the tunnel schedule. There also is a $12 toll. You will return your car to the Harbor Store, simple to find.
