accomodations in albuquerque

we will be ending our mini cross country arizona and new mexicao trip in albuquereque. we fly out of albuquerque on an early sunday (8/20th). it is the santa fe indian market so we are thinking not to stay there friday or saturday, but take the scenic road to santa fe on saturday. can anyone recommend a nice hotel in albuquerque that is in a safe neighborhood. might even do a bed and breakfast. thank you in advance for your help

it looks wonderful but a bit more than i wanted to pay, as a sleeping place since we will be out early the first morning and out very early the second. makes me want to stay longer any other suggestions, in that i eard that some parts of albuquerque are not safe.

The vast majority of Albuquerque is safe and very nice. As with any city of its size, there are some areas downtown that are less desirable.

Perhaps if you indicate what your price range is...we can help you.

I can't vouch for this place from personal experience, but noticed it mentioned in the travel section of today's Houston Chronicle www.silver-moon
-lodge.com.

The Silver Moon Lodge is just west of downtown; there's a nice little gourmet market right next door and a farmer's market Saturday mornings in the park across the street. You're within easy walking distance to downtown restaurants and clubs.

How about the Embassy Suites on I-25 at Lomas? It's a very nice property.
