Los Poblano's Inn is located in a very pretty area of ABQ called Los Ranchos.

Here are some places for you to look at: http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/albuq...ew-mexico.html

Also, think about staying in Corrales -- it is just north of ABQ and is very different than ABQ. It is like a little old western town with quaint shops and restaurants. And it easy to get to the interstate to go to Santa Fe.

Also, do a search on here...type in Albuquerque b & B or use the drop down menu and click on New Mexico. There have been a lot of threads recently on this topic.

Hope this helps...

You might try the Bottger Mansion, which is in Old Town and right near Central Avenue (Route 66). The folks there are great. Check out http://www.bottger.com/.

It will be very easy to get to the ABQ airport on a Sunday (especially at 7 AM), so I would not be too hung up on that. In any event, you can probably be to the airport within 10-15 minutes from the Bottger Mansion.

For what it's worth, I am not a big fan of the restaurants around Old Town, and you will probably do better elsewhere (perhaps in Nob Hill, etc.).

Early morning should pose no problem for getting to the airport without delays. From Corrales, you can make it to airport in under 30 minutes. And ABQ airport on Sunday morning should not have alot of people traveling so security should be ok.

I've not stayed there. It is in an ok area, not the best but not the worst. It is more downtown area than old town area. There are other bigger hotels in area.

I looked at their website...I am bothered when a inn's website shows only a picture of 2 chairs in a corner when you click on the ROOMS page.

Did you look it up on Tripadvisor.com?

i was thinking the same thing, about the photos that is. i do have some concerns about 'safe' areas, not knowing the area at all. their other b&b is 'hacienta antiqua' which seems nice and in a more safe? area. i did not know if i wanted to spend the extra money as it is a sleeping spot more or less.
so now, what hotel would you recommend that is near old town and easy to get to airport. or even a hotel at airport that would be a good base as we travel to santa fe for a day trip. we do have a 7 AM flight sunday am. los poblanos and bottger are full
thanks for your help

I would highly suggest Embassy Suites. It is about 1 year old and is very conveniently located just of I25 and close enough to get to downtown, old town, Nob Hill and all locations that you would want to see.

Like all Embassy Suites, it has cocktail hour each night, and an excellent hot made to order breakfast each morning. Free parking and the rooms are all suites.

We stayed there last T'giving and were very pleased.

For only a night or 2 in ABQ, I personally think this is the best way to go.

Hope this helps...

I don't know the B & B but I have been to Bettys Bath & Spa [which they have a link to]which they indicate as being in the same neighborhood. It is pretty much an older residential neighborhood.

That's all I can say on this one...at least they have pictures of the rooms!

Kodi, that would be so great if you decide to come here! Be sure to let me know - and yes, I finally scored some Tim Tams at Cost Plus.

I haven't stayed there, but the area should be fine, and it is close to a lot of activities.

Lee Ann, Lucky you! Sounds like a good plan then for me to come down that way next year. For sure I'll be asking for advice from you, Debi and others.
I'll be looking for budget places to eat, like your great advice on the Cod Piece in Auckland..( Hope I got the name right...the place in Devonport).
