25th Anniversary

Going to celebrate 25th anniversary in July of 03. If we go to Hawaii (I've never been before) where do you suggest. Money not a big issue. Have enough set aside for most luxurious resort.

What island? We are both in late 40's. Like nice pool, ocean front, nice beach. Don't want too big of a place and don't want too many kids.

Please recommend some resorts for consideration. Thanks.

How long a vacation? If enough time, I'd do more than one island. We went for our 25th anniversary and spent 3 1/2 weeks. Granted we had been to Oahu before so we only spent a day or so there but we spent 4 days in Kauai, 4 days on the big Island and a week on Maui. We liked Maui the best, but that's just our opinion. We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort on Kaanapali Beach. We had an ocean front room and even though this resort was in the "touristy part" of Maui it was perfect for us. Hawaii is a very romantice place to visit. Congratulations on 25 years!

Kea Lani in Maui, very beautiful, nice pools, great service, great salon. Perfect relaxation, or another great place is Grand Wailea Resort, very nice. I am going to the KEA LANI in MAY for my honeymoon. Well I hope this helps.

Nooooooo not the Hilton Waikoloa in July with tons of kids!!!!!!

Four Seasons on the Big Island for luxury.

Ditto the "to many kids" comment for the Hyatt in Kauai. If you stay at the Princeville, I'd suggest spending a few extra dollars and getting one of their suites.

The sunset views from those rooms are spectacular, both from the living room and the jacuzzi bathtub.

If we go to Hawaii should we spend our time Island hopping or just relax in the luxury of a single hotel/resort?

We live in Indiana, so the trip is a long one. If we choose to go to Hawaii should we stay 2 weeks?

What is the best resort - fewest kids?
Also, how does Hawaii etc compare to the AI resorts in the Caribbean such as Sandals?

I have another question. How are the beds in these upscale resorts?

Are they soft with big pillows? Or typical motel room beds?
