Rain Boots

About a year ago, I read on a website about rain boots that women could use with any type of shoe--flats, heels, anything. I considered buying them then, but decided I wouldn't use them enough to justify the $99 price tag. I wasn't working, could avoid rainy days for the most part, etc. Now I'm in a position that I really could use a pair but now I can't find them and can't remember what they're called. For some reason, I think I remember the name reminding me of GoGo Boots (like in the 60's-- Yeah. Showing my age.) But does anyone know what I'm talking about and know where to find them? They were definitely special for use in ALL types of shoes.

I was JUST thinking about these things because of a conversation on the radio yesterday. Everyone was talking about the different terminology for rain boots and the various types out there.

My suggestion? If you do the search under the term "overshoes", and then look only at the IMAGES result, you can see if any of the pictures matches your memory of the article. Then you can go to the page of that picture.

Good luck shopping.

Over the years I've had several pair of overshoes that work w/ just about any shoes style except for large athletic styles. All have been plastic and quite inexpensive - nothing even remotely near $100.

Do you want stylish or mainly utilitarian/foldable? Because

Now I'm REALLY into this topic. Are these the ones you had considered? :

I have had a great time looking at all the vintage ones online.

I finally found them! They are at www.gogogolosh.com. They came just in time for a big rain storm here I got the bright pink (on sale!) and love them!

For travel, I have a pair of black leather waterproof Merrells but can only use them in cooler weather; they are not winter lined, simply a plain slip-on moc. For hotter climates, I bring a pair of Crocs in a nice slingback style, they will drain perfectly and not get soggy soles. I have slip-in rain boots that I wear lots in spring & fall here in New Jersey. When people say they only travel with one or two pairs of shoes, I wonder. I need to change my shoes at the end of a long day of walking. Always travel with a very light pair of flip-flops, protecting wine bottles, wear to pool indoor or out, also as slippers; but not good on rainy days, they'd kick up water/mud onto pants!

Hmm, go-go-galosh very cute but not for travel. Can't you find slip-in rubber rain boots that are very popular in all US stores these days, they are very inexpensive, unless you want the Hunter brand.

The galoshes fold up and are very light. They come with their own drawstring carry bag. I keep them in the car but would have no problem traveling with them.
