One week Family Spring Break in Cartagena and ??

Its that time of year where I scramble to plan a Family Spring Break trip.....
Boys are now 15 and 12 and have highly suggested we go somewhere warm!! Shorts and bathing suits only!!

We have been trying to visit Cartagena for some time but I understand that a week is too much time for this.

Any other ideas on what to add on?? Or any other suggestions of where to spend a week for Spring Break coming from Miami?

We have been to Costa Rica a few times, also been to Panama, Peru, & Argentina.

I have thought about the Caribbean as well, but don't want to spend a week laying on a beach. Need active things to do!!!

Belize! Check out the spring break trip report I wrote when our boys were teens. It was very hot, but their spring break was the first week of April - yours is probably earlier, when it's not as steamy.

BTW, I don't think a week is too long for Cartagena, but I haven't been there for years.

crosscheck.....The Belize trip sounds amazing!!! It was on the list but airfare from Miami is too expensive - crazy, since its so close!!

What would u do in Cartagena for a week??

MiamiBeachMomma, did you figure this out? I have boys similar ages and we spent the past winter break in Tulum. It was great - plenty of beach time but also loads of other diversions. Ruins, cenotes, colonial towns, snorkeling, etc. Plus food was great.

We have also planned next winter in Cartagena. Spending a week there, so wish us well. It does look like there's plenty to do, especially if you take launches out to the islands.
