9/11 Anniversary
On this 10th anniversary of 9/11, I wish to salute all my American forum friends and I know you will join me in rendering a heartfelt homage to the memory of the innocent victims of terrorism from all over the world.

Well said, AV. Thank you.
As I write, there are increased surveillance planes flying overhead in WDC and much more police presence; a reminder of the cultural/security/and psyche changes fraught by this horrible event a decade ago. And as you so rightly remind us, it was but one of so many terrorist acts around the world.
I wish us all a more peaceful and tolerant and prosperous decade.

AV, Your post brings back vivid memories of 9/11 and the days that followed. I had just returned from my first-ever trip to Argentina, having spent two weeks meeting with representatives of various universities and language schools to identify a partner institution for a study abroad program with the university in the US where I worked.
Starting on the afternoon of 9/11 I received phone calls, emails and post cards from people in Argentina that I had just met...including a couple from hotel staff and even a waiter in a restaurant...to see if I was ok and to express their sympathy. I was stunned by their kindness.
I did not know you then AV or I feel certain you would have been the first to reach out to me at a time of national crisis for my country. I am often asked why I love Argentina so passionately. Well, its more than the scenery, or the wine or the steak. Its the people. People like AV.
Thanks

AV: You're the best! Thank you.
Really can't add more than the previous 3 posts and mega ditto's
for Dr.D's:" it's more than the scenery, wine, and steak. It's the people". And that is why we DO keep coming back.
Allan and I attended a memorial concert at the music school on the CU Campus. It was somber, appropriate and many were teary-eyed.
Cheers, Ronnie
