Comparing Tahitian islands. (Rangiroa or Tikehau?)

Hi all,

I'm currently planning a surprise honeymoon for my fiancee and was hoping to get some help and recommendations about the various islands in French Polynesia. We've both done quite a bit of traveling and would like beautiful vistas, but also activities, hiking, traditional polynesian culture (if that's still possible), Scuba, etc. One thing, I'd like to have a remote and romantic feel, preferrably at a place with excellent service.

The current idea is:
About 4 nights first on one of the islands of Tuamotu (either Rangiroa or Tikehau).
Then about 3 nights at the Marquesas (likely Nuku Hiva)
Then 4-5 in Bora Bora.

I'd REALLY appreciate a direct comparison between Rangiroa and Tikehau if possible. Which is more beautiful? Which has more to do? Which has a better hotel (was planning an overwater bungalow there)?

Also, any other recommendations about the Marquesas or Bora Bora would be awesome. Which hotel in BB has the best service now that Hotel Bora Bora is closed for renovations? How do you enjoy the beauty of BB, but avoid the cruise ship crowds? How many nights would people recommend for each?

Thanks for the tips!
Mark
