Yellow TAXI'S And Busses into DOWNTOWN Puerto Vallarta?
If I only have one suitcase when I arrive in P.V. and take the blue/white-Centro bus into town, where do I get off If I'm going to Olas Altas 246/Basilio Badillo? 4 pesos( 60 cents )?
Or the yellow cab would be how much?
THANKS

The local bus (make sure you are on one that says only El Centro NOT "tunnel" also) terminates in the small town square by the beach (with a statue of a guy in the middle, sorry don't know the name of the park, but it's where all the buses start/stop). It is at the head/north end of Olas Altas, exactly one block north of Basilo Badillo corner. No, if the peso is currently 9.5 which I believe it is then 4 pesos is approximately 38 cents US. BUT realize this is a LOCAL bus, very crowded, often standing room only, and you have to HOP on and off... so if you have a large suitcase this will be quite difficult. I have done it but only with a medium size duffle bag or small 22" rolling case.

The yellow taxi is negotiable. My ride from area where you are staying back into the airport Dec 01 was around 50 pesos. BUT coming from the airport the drivers realize they are in competition with the normal regulated taxis and so sometimes up the rates.

Ask this question over on http://pub69.ezboard.com/btodopuertovallarta or check www.todopv.com site because Brenda et al. can answer even more accurately.

To JR in PV: My tunel comment was referring to coming IN from the airport. My impression was that if you didn't know to jump off (or the driver didn't signal the obvious tourists) at that central park, you would continue on thru the tunnel and be looped back out to the airport. No?
