October Honeymoon

My fiance and I are getting married in October. We have booked a honeymoon to Thailand and are really excited about the trip. However, given recent events, we have started exploring other options. We love the idea of a place where there are both beaches and adventure. Our hope is to go to Thailand, but we want to be realistic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I wouldn't let the headlines scare me away. You will mostly be outside of Bangkok anyway. But if you're still not comfortable, have you thought about Bali? It is magical.

I'm not sure of the weather in October, but Belize is another option.

Congrats on your engagement. Belize has the largest barrier reef in the hemisphere with three atolls and offers incredible diving, snorkeling, fishing, sailing and kayaking. Our mainland features impressive Mayan sites, caves with artifacts, rainforest, wildlife and great birding, river and horse trips, waterfalls, interesting, diverse, friendly, Enlgish speakiing cultures who all get along. Weather in October is usually comfortable.

Panama offer what you are looking for (beach and adventure) plus rich history, culture and the Panama Canal. NO Hurricanes...

In Belize you could do a jungle lodge like Chan Chich or Chaa Creek combined with a beach destination like Ambergris.
