October Honeymoon
We are looking to book our honeymoon in late Oct 2009 for two weeks. We would love to have a beach/spa experience in Thailand but are concerned about the monsoon season. We have also looked at Bali/Tahiti. Any great tips from anyone?

You're sort of on the fringe for being towards end of Thai wet season in October, though they have had some enormous flooding about then in recent years.
Likewise you're getting close to start for wet season in southern hemisphere as far as Bali goes, probably early enough to miss anything you want to.
Tahiti will likely be less affected but a lot more expensive.
You could always opt for a mix of Northern Oz [also more expensive] but some nice moderately priced resorts on mainland and islands - http://www.queenslandislands.com/ and somewhere like http://www.lordhoweisland.info/ , one of our less talked about gems and not overly expensive.

Thailand is affected by two different monsoon systems. Unfortunately, October is the month in which both sides of the peninsula are wet as well as the usually dry area around Hua Hin. Take a look here for the stats: www.weatherbase.com You can also check weather anywhere else in the world n this website.

Thailand is a wonderful place. Perfect for a honeymoon. Both fascinating and relaxing. From the US, a two week vacation is 12 days on the ground. A wonderful mix would be:
2 days-Bangkok
4 days-Luang Prabang, Laos
4 days-beach
2 days-Bamgkok
